SISA Institute has provisions to help individuals who do not pass the exam but wish to try again, demonstrating the institute's commitment to supporting candidates in their professional development and career growth.

Those individuals who are planning to re-attempt the exam must take note that effective April 1st, 2023, the exam retake policy for SISA certifications will be available with the below updates.

Should one wish to re-attempt the exam; they can retake it after a cooling period of 30 days.

  1. You have six months to attempt the exam again from date of your exam application approval.
  2. You can re-attempt the exam twice, for a total of three attempts.
  3. Should you fail all three attempts; you will need to wait for six months from the date of your last attempt before re-applying with a fresh eligibility application form.
Note: Only those failing the exam are eligible for a retake.

A well-prepared test-taker is the one who knows everything about the examination including how it is calculated and the score required to earn the certification.

SISA Institute has set a standard passing scores based on the standard setting study and advisory of our group of experts for all those who challenge the certification exams.

Those interested in attempting the SISA certification exams must be aware of the below:

  • SISA certification exams do not have negative markings.
  • Each correct answer carries 1 mark
  • The final outcome of the exam is shown in %
  • The exam outcome is available right after the exam on the test-takers screen via the score card.
  • The exam outcome is calculated automatically by the exam system based on the exam performance of the test-taker and cannot be manipulated in any way.

The passing criteria is as below:

  • CPISI: 66%
  • CPISI Advanced: 62%
  • CPISI- D: 62%
  • CIDR: 60%

Those securing the set benchmark are considered successful and will be awarded the certification.

Effective November 1st 2022, SISA Institute has introduced the latest version of the exam blueprint for the titles listed below:

As a certification body, it is our duty to keep up with the latest security practices and advancements in the field of payment security and its compliance. Our exam blueprint is an outcome of the same effort after detailed competency mapping studies within this industry. Our group of experts have made sure that our exams test what the job role requires.

An exam blueprint is a framework that arranges topics on the examination in a balanced manner, making it easier for the test taker to focus his/ her study as they prepare for the exam. The exam blueprint also displays how many questions a test-taker can expect on a specific topic.

SISA Institute encourages all test-takers to go through the exam blueprint prior to attempting the exam.

  • All certification related fees can be paid online, payment links will be provided once the request is received.
  • If there is more than one payment to be made by a single individual a combined payment link will be provided.
  • Standardized fees are only applicable to payments related to the certification scheme, training prices and services may differ based on location.

SISA Institute intends to make testing simple by providing on-demand exams which are delivered and proctored online and can be attempted from any location with minimum resources. With stringent security protocols in place, Prometric will be responsible for delivering all SISA exams efficiently while improving the candidate’s experience, anytime, anywhere. SISA Institute - A division of SISA introduces the Advisory Council, a team of experts specializing in the field of information security. The Advisory Council is appointed by SISA Institute effective October 1st, 2022, to govern and guide all certification scheme related decisions.

This independent group of professionals represent the industry and will help the certification department make important decisions related to the certification scheme that will have a positive impact on the job role in the industry they are designed to serve.  The Advisory Council will also work with the certification department to improve the quality of the exams by making the test content more relevant and meaningful based on the knowledge and skill they are built assess.

In Addition, The Advisory Council will hear all appeals, and violation of ethics cases presented and decide on the outcome objectively with no bias or external influence.

Since inception SISA has dedicated all its efforts to a sole purpose, ‘Creating a digitally secure society’ which also entails moving away from the traditional paper-based organization to a more sustainable, and nature-friendly way of working. With this initiative, SISA joins the “GO GREEN” movement by migrating to a 360-degree digital approach in the way we operate.

This means all resources provided and exchanged will use digital mode only and all physical/ paper resources will be discontinued effective November 1st, 2022. This also includes agreements, catalogs, books, certifications, paper communication etc. Usage of physical/ paper resources will be charged additionally, and the collection will be dedicated to a “Go GREEN” cause.

In Addition, SISA has created a team of enthusiastic staff who will be identifying areas withing the organization where usage of physical/paper resources can be minimized.
